"For a human, being alive is a mixture of episodes and encounters, not all under control. Occasionally we see our own shadow or reflection and we realise we are part of other people's encounters. Sven Sachsalber's work is all about this, like catching himself unawares and taking the risk of looking stupid or noble, or both. For a man from the mountains it is not surprising that there is lots of gravity in what he does, that feeling, that any moment we might fall down.
We try to be vertical, and we would like to choose when we want to be horizontal.
