Lisa Walker's jewellery can be seen like a continuous and playful study about the disproportion of wearing and the elasticity of extremes between ugliness and beauty. Walker purposely uses the amateurish way of making her pieces: Mostly plastic and textile materials are melted together, glued, painted, distorted or cut in pieces and appear like saturated clusters of objects. Whether rubbish, toys, food, kitsch or computer, any utensil might end up in one of her pieces, the moment they match to the artist's expansion of thinking and making.

She interweaves in a provocative, energetic and reactive way not only reflections about her cultural background and geographical (dis)location but as well about the meaning and presence of jewellery since the last 40 years.
