Manuel Vilhena : Miss Amelia & 1000 Rings: Gallery S O London

Based on Manuel Vilhena's story of 'Miss Amelia' as well as the ancient book of Arabian Nights, GALLERY S O presents Miss Amelia + 1001 Rings.

Similarly driven by story-telling is 1001 Rings, an installation of 1001 blackened silver rings that alludes to the renowned collection of Arabic folktales. Vilhena interprets the stories as rings - to be given in exchange for the wearer's tale - and that wear over time to reveal the polished silver beneath.

United by the use of narrative, Miss Amelia + 1001 Rings use story-telling as a device to inspire and navigate through the work.
