Julia Maria Künnap

Overview

“Everything here is about the relationship between a blink of an eye and eternity. The stones are squeezed, bent, melting or appear otherwise liquid. I try to see something in these traditional jewellery materials what others have yet not seen. I'd like to make works that I'm curious to see myself, if I'm able to fully imagine a work it's not worth making. Various questions come to my mind while working with the stones day by day. Some of them are light, some are personal, some concerns are more global. These questions have formed the titles to my works.”
